SWave SRT 800 Airborne Software Defined Radio

Swave SRT-800 Airborne Radio is a compact multi-band and multi-waveform tactical radios designed to guarantee superior performance on fixed/rotary wing aircrafts, manned or uncrewed. This networked airborne radio provides secure and cyber resilient connectivity for Military and Civil Agencies looking for reliable radio communications spanning the entire area of operations.

Missions & Features

Small and efficient

Swave SRT-800 is a powerful SDR compacted in 2 MCU equipment. It is designed to upgrade various traditional avionics units such as UHF/VHF Voice & Data communications radio, modems and crypto computers in a single, flexible and efficient equipment. SRT-800 combines a state of the art digital section capable to meet demanding computational requirements with an innovative RF section based on a patented technology that maximize transmission power reducing power dissipation.

A variety of waveforms for an interoperable and open approach

It supports the development and integration of new powerful waveforms, including European Secure Software Defined Radio consortium (ESSOR) architecture. It works with narrow/wide bands and ECCM technology, and offers a set of high performance and interoperable standard waveforms (LOS and BLOS) with the capability to easy host end user’s proprietary waveforms.
Overall, Leonardo Swave SDR technology offers exceptional operational flexibility to customer independence aspiration, SCA compliant open interfaces, support for technology insertions and/or maintenance/upgrade of existing waveforms.

Versatile and secure communications

This communication platform has the capability to be completely reconfigurable with software that is based on several different communication modes. Its secure architecture, is complemented by an innovative user selectable safety profile that allows the safe execution of civil ATC with appropriate design assurance level (iaw DO-178C/DO-254). A programmable removable crypto applique implements NATO standard (current and future algorithms), as well as national secure mode specific algorithms.
