The Marlin 40 naval defence system is perfectly suitable for Anti-Surface Warfare (ASuW), Anti-Air Warfare (AAW) and Asymmetric Warfare (ASyW). Therefore, it is effective with different threats types, such as helicopters, uncrewed aerial systems and anti-ship missiles, thanks to its high accuracy, its capability to fire smart ammunition and a range of almost 5 km. Maritime traffic interdiction, law enforcement and self-protection fall under its broad set of applications 

Low weight, no deck penetration, flexibility and reliability are just some of the features of its architecture, allowing an easy installation on any type of units, both as a primary and secondary naval defence system. Its state of the art fully digital electronic allows a smooth integration with all the Combat Management Systems and Fire Control Systems available on the market. Its stealth design make it difficult to track, even in the most challenging conditions 

In order to meet all customers’ needs, the system has been conceived in a basic version “Remotely Controlled” (RC), which can be managed by an external Firing Control System and in the advanced version “Independent Line Of Sight” (ILOS). The latter is a highly-effective precision-fire system, which can be operated autonomously via a local control console in addition to be fully controlled by the Combat Management System. The advanced sensor suite allows a 360° situational awareness of the environment. As option, the Marlin 40 may be equipped with an integrated hoist to enable the ammunition loading from covered position below deck
