SP-1450/N-E
The SP-1450/N-E is an audio management system, which provides secure routing and distribution functions, for all external communications audio signals (plain/cyphered analog voice), navigation aids audio and internal communications audio, plus audio warnings. It has been conceived for medium-large military aircrafts and helicopters.
Functionality of switching and routing
The ICS SP-1450 / N-E is TEMPEST qualified, its switching and routing capabilities can be configured according to the type and number of internal and external communication resources of the platform and relevant users. The SP-1450 /N-E allows the interfacing of all the radio communication assets installed on the platform.
Efficient even with complex requirements
The digital design of the SP-1450/N-E ICS is modular and flexible in configuration to meet different requirements. Extensive use of fiber optics connections and appropriate isolation solutions are used to avoid crosstalk and electromagnetic interference, in order to meet all TEMPEST requirements.
Audio alarms and voice warnings internal generation
The SP-1450/N-E is equipped with an internal Direct Voice Output and Warnings Tones Generator (DVO/WTG), which can be activated by requests received through the data bus or through specific input discretes.
Internal Emergency Backup
In case of failure, an internal back-up hardware with analog interconnections can guarantee emergency voice communications for pilot and copilot (access to interphone plus one radio each).
Continuous monitoring of health parameters
The Continuous Built-In-Test (CBIT) functionality, included in the SP-1450/N-E allows to always keep under control the integrity of operations of the ICS.
SP-1450/N-E system is composed by the following units:
- Communications Management Unit (CMU):
It is the “core” of the system. It has been designed to manage all the audio signals to/from the associated equipment (External Communications, Navigation & Mission, Alarms and Alert). Thanks to its modular design the CMU is flexible and configurable, while ensuring TEMPEST characteristics and EMC/EMI performances. - Main Station Unit (MSU):
It provides headset interface (microphone and headphones) for main users, as well as internal/external communications management and so it can be considered the system HMI. It is equipped with a NVG compatible display, for equipment status monitoring. - Secondary Station Unit (SSU):
it provides headset interface (microphone and headphones) for secondary users, as well as the HMI for internal communications (interphone function).
