Leonardo’s RAT 31DL/M radar delivers dependable air surveillance in today’s dynamic threat environment. This deployable, solid-state L-band system leverages advanced AESA technology with simultaneous pencil beams to precisely detect a multitude of threats, including tactical ballistic missiles, electronic-warfare systems and saturation attacks. Engineered for rapid deployment and autonomous operation, it integrates seamlessly into contemporary defence networks. Trusted by NATO allies and international armed forces, RAT 31DL/M provides proven performance, adaptability, and robust airspace protection in the most demanding operational scenarios.
RAT 31DL/M combines solid-state reliability with a rotating AESA antenna, utilising Multiple Simultaneous Pencil Beams (MSPB) for independent electronic steering in elevation and superior clutter suppression. Optimised for multi-threat engagements, it excels at identifying Tactical Ballistic Missiles (TBMs), EW systems, and saturation attacks. Mono-pulse processing ensures precise 3D tracking, while ultra-low sidelobes and advanced ECCM resist electronic countermeasures (ECM) and Anti-Radiation Missiles (ARMs). An integrated Secondary Surveillance Radar (SSR) supports secure IFF Modes 4/5/S, enhancing secure identification and comprehensive situational awareness.
Optimised for tactical agility, RAT 31DL/M features a modular architecture housed within two ISO 20-foot containers, enabling rapid airlift or ground transport. Its trailer-mounted auxiliary power generator supports over 24 hours of autonomous operation, while a 5-person crew can achieve full operational readiness in just 120 minutes, making it ideal for time-sensitive, forward-deployed missions. Operating in the L-band, RAT 31DL/M ensures precise detection across Mode 5, ADS-B, and IFF Levels 1 and 2, providing continuous, reliable airspace surveillance for expeditionary defence operations.
