Leonardo confirms its world leadership in developing naval defence systems with the launch of the latest addition to the LIONFISH® family of small- and medium-calibre turrets, designed to meet the most stringent requirements of navies also thanks to the use of artificial intelligence.
Thanks to latest-generation hardware and software technologies, developed through the company's ongoing investments in key domains, such as Artificial Intelligence, autonomous systems, data processing and information management, the DSS-IRST system is able to automatically detect and track symmetric and asymmetric targets for the protection of modern naval units.
Leonardo’s continuous investment and consolidated experience in the naval sector enables it to meet every requirement for any type of ship, class and tonnage and to respond to the evolution of operations in a multi-domain maritime environment.
Leonardo renewed its annual appointment at SHARPER “European Researchers’ Night” in L’Aquila, an event that promotes scientific research and innovation that was held in 13 Italian cities simultaneously.
